Trinity Legal Opens Clinic at Cross and Crown Mission

In 2001 the Lord led Paul and Suzanne Whitmire and their fellow house church members to minister to the needy of Oklahoma City. Within eighteen months the Lord had blessed and grown the ministry beyond their wildest dreams. Today, Cross and Crown Mission, housed in an old church on the corner of 9th Street and McKinley, is the anchor of the community. The Mission offers the love of Jesus through the smiles and kind words of its friendly, compassionate volunteers and the multiple services it provides to needy families and children in the area.

The sense of community at the Mission is overwhelming! Hearing the phrase “God bless you!” and seeing folks praying together are common occurrences, as is the feeling that you are among family. The staff and volunteers work hard to remember names and to make each visitor feel welcomed and valued. The love of God is evident everywhere.

Besides receiving friendship, food, and clothing, those with needs may also sign up to visit with a doctor in the medical clinic, orthopedic clinic, or optical clinic. And now they may sign up to see a volunteer attorney who can advise them on legal matters.

Trinity Legal volunteer attorneys will usually interview and provide counsel to several individuals at a weekly clinic session. Cases are as varied as the individuals who come to share their stories. Each individual seen at the legal clinic is prayed for and listened to and leaves with renewed hope. It is an amazing privilege to be a part of the work here.

Cross and Crown hosts a clinic every Wednesday from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
